June 8, 2018

Yesterday evening, the Page Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call wherein the resident of a home reported that the home had been broken into and that the suspect was still on the premises, hiding in the garage.

According to the Page Police Department’s News Release, the resident reported that upon returning home, they noticed the interior door leading to the garage was partially open and they could see someone hiding behind the door. The resident also reported that they had ordered the suspect to the ground and had the suspect at gunpoint.

Officers were able to place the suspect into custody and clear the home without any incident. Upon initial investigation, it was determined the suspect gained entry to the home by using an axe on the patio door.

The suspect has been identified as Larmando Shortman of Tonalea, AZ. Upon placing Shortman into custody, officers found Shortman in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Shortman has been charged with 2nd degree residential burglary, 1st degree criminal trespassing, criminal damage, and possession of dangerous drugs.

All charges are accusations only and not any indication of guilt. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
